Evercore expansion plans may include finance jobs in London

Independent investment firms such as Evercore may hire more people to banking jobs as part of plans to increase its operations in Europe.

This is according to eFinancial Careers, which explained the company plans to expand into equity capital markets (ECM) and hire people as a result.

Chief executive Ralph Schlosstein told the news source that the organisation has had approaches from 30 "noted analysts and salespeople" keen to work in the new ECM unit.

Those seeking sales support jobs in London may also be interested to learn that the news source suggested roles in independent investment houses such as Evercore and Lazard are proving popular with candidates at the moment, in part because of the more generous payments some offer.

Advisory and investment business Evercore recently reported that its revenues rose by 217 per cent to $109 million (£70 million) during the fourth quarter of 2009 compared with the same period of the previous year.ADNFCR-2929-ID-19603157-ADNFCR
