Morgan Stanley ''plans to create new finance jobs''

Those seeking banking jobs in London could be the beneficiaries of plans by Morgan Stanley to create a series of new trading positions.

According to the US financial services giant, it is seeking several hundred new traders over the coming years in order to enhance the performance of its securities arm, in addition to the recruitment of 350 people to corporate finance jobs in 2009.

Reported in the Financial Times, the plans were attributed to new chief executive James Gorman and are expected to form part of efforts by the investment bank to return to profit.

"We need to seriously grow our footprint in products like currencies, equity derivatives, commodities," he told the news source, predicting that growth of 25 per cent is possible.

In terms of risk jobs, Sarah Butcher of eFinancialCareers noted recently that Morgan Stanley has has "more than doubled" its team during the past two years and a new risk committee has been established.ADNFCR-2929-ID-19592703-ADNFCR
