Brits with HSBC banking jobs in London ''to work longer hours''

People employed by HSBC may find that they are set to work longer hours in order to offer the best customer service possible.

Those with banking jobs in London with the financial service provider are set to see an additional 170 existing branches open on Saturdays.

Meanwhile, a further 80 branches will open later on week days.

HSBC has announced that it has taken such action in order to make it easier for their customers to do business with them.

Peter Keenan, head of network at HSBC, said that visiting the bank was once something people did swiftly while on a shopping trip or during their lunch break, but that this trend has changed.

As a result, he explained it was important banks were open during Britons'' free time, as well as during their working hours.

"Customers value convenience and easy access ... the extended opening hours are key to ensuring that we continue to be the natural first choice for people when they are considering their financial requirements," Mr Keenan explained.

Employees of financial services providers may agree with any changes that improve customer services, after research by the Co-operative Bank Current Accounts revealed that bankers are the second most distrusted professionals in the UK, after politicians.
