Risk jobs in London experiencing surge in demand?

Risk and compliance jobs in London may be about to see a surge in demand, after one industry expert revealed a dearth of qualified talent in this sector across the UK.

Pars Purewal, head of UK asset management at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), was quoted in the Financial Times as saying hiring managers are increasingly looking to fill risk jobs at their companies.

"The demand for risk managers, compliance and audit staff is growing as regulations force asset managers to strengthen their teams," he explained.

Mr Purewal noted there has been a lack of regulations in years past that has resulted in many departments finding it difficult to get hold of individuals for risk jobs.

The Financial Services Authority will begin to introduce more legislation, he added, which will lead to requirements for talented people in the industry becoming even greater.

Andrew Kail of PwC recently claimed there is more optimism in businesses throughout Britain''s finance sector.ADNFCR-2929-ID-19906914-ADNFCR
