Managers could help those with product control jobs in Singapore switch off

Bosses need to be setting the right example to their employees by encouraging them to take a break, one sector commentator has claimed.

Indeed, those with product controls jobs in Singapore could follow the lead if their boss by taking time off in order to return to the office felling refreshed.

Ben Willmott, senior public policy advisor for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, advised business leaders to get away from the workplace as much as they could and encourage their staff to do the same.

"Because of technology and because people are constantly connected if they need to be to the workplace, sometimes people find it hard to switch off and draw a barrier between their work and their home lives," he explained.

This something that managers need to be mindful of, he added, advising that they keep an eye out for workers sending work emails when they should be on holiday, as it could undermine their health and productivity.

His comments come after the Institute of Leadership and Management revealed that over one-third of managers continue to work while taking annual leave.
