Internal Audit: Investment Bank: Head of Internal Audit

A leading global investment bank wanted to hire a new London-based head of Internal Audit. Astbury Marsden pitched for and was awarded a search mandate on the basis of our market knowledge, search pedigree and industry contacts.

The brief was to identify candidates with a specific skills set, namely: accounting qualification, global markets product knowledge, international experience and an understanding of the work flows and cultural dynamics in a multinational banking environment.

To identify appropriate candidates we mapped out all Internal Audit departments at non-client investment banks in London and continental Europe identifying corresponding Heads of Internal Audit and Deputy Heads who would be ready to make a step up. Having completed our mapping exercise and headhunting activity within two weeks, we were able to generate a shortlist of five candidates within a month of taking on the assignment.

After guiding Client and Candidates through the interview process, an offer was successfully delivered and counter offer negated.
