Corporate Finance: Private Equity: Investment Director

A boutique sector specialist Private Equity firm had just completed their first major buy out and were looking to add bench strength to their team with an Investment Director who could enable them to successfully move onto their next deal. The ideal hire was a VP/Director level candidate from a Tier 1 investment bank with a track record of successful deals in the same sector. We proposed a retainer to map the market in the sector and agreed a list of target organisations with strong deal activity in the space.
 
After four weeks we had completed the mapping of Directors and VP's in the target companies and also approached  the relevant individuals to create a short list of candidates. Some of the candidates were known to our client and they moved four through to interview. The final choice came down to two individuals, both of whom were very excited about the opportunity.  The client chose the banker that they believed fitted the culture of their firm.

The firm has since completed their second buy-out and the candidate we placed was instrumental in the deal.
