Finance: Capital Markets: Price Testing - Urgent requirement

Following a resignation within credit derivatives price testing, an investment bank urgently needed a replacement. However, a severe shortage of credit derivatives expertise hampered the bank's ability to find a permanent hire quickly.

The bank asked Astbury Marsden's contract division to supply a temporary price testing/valuations specialist until a suitable permanent candidate became available.

We were able to source an interim candidate who had previously worked in a front office credit derivatives environment and was returning to work after maternity leave. Her credentials were impeccable and far exceeded those required for the position.

It took just a week for us to find and brief the candidate, to arrange the interview process and manage the contract negotiations. She has currently occupied the position for nearly nine months, having had her employment contract extended twice. In view of her expertise the bank has asked her to train an internal candidate with a view to them replacing her on a permanent basis.
